Simple Ways to Help

- Don’t put oil or grease down your sink. Put it into a jar or jug under your sink and dispose of it when full by throwing it into a garbage.
- Don’t flush or put any medication down your drains. Refer to this for proper disposal.
- Don’t flush things like tissues or papers down your toilet; throw them away in a trash can.
- Use fruit and vegetable scraps to make a compost; avoid using the garbage disposal.
- Only use the dishwasher or washing machine when it is full.
- Turn off devices when you leave your home; when energy is being used fossil fuels are being burned and causing more air pollution.
- Use solar lighting for the outdoors or connect a timer to the lights so they are only used for a certain time.
- When and if possible, travel places by using the bus, bike or walking. If you can, or want to, carpool.
